Mona Lisa

Hrmmmm...I dont understand what so great about this painting except for the fact that the painter is well-known. Some say there are riddles in it, some say it's a great work of art. There are definitely different opinions and interpretations of this painting. But the question is: does it truly deserve the attention and fame?

It involves personal tastes which is very subjective and irrational. I am one who cannot appreciate/understand abstract art and such portrait painting; but I love painting of scenery, landscape and nature.

For someone who loves such painting will be able to give many reasons why it is unique, for me I really can't see the uniqueness in it. Don't laugh if I say the background appeals to me more!

They also say that she is smiling from all angles - no matter from where u look at her she's smiling haha. Think that's one reason why she's so popular, altho I think it's been overhyped till the point that she loses her appeal.
I was fortunate to see her in the Louvre, but there were like hordes of american kids trying to snap a shot lol.
In fact it's just slipped my mind right now as to who painted her, how ignorant I am!

Hahaha. I didnt know that. Maybe that's the reason with the fascination of the painting: able to make the smile looks smiling at all angle. But dont all smiles look smiling at all angle?

Hrmmm...food for thoughts.
